The Quantum Sail Design Group was founded in 1996. Formed by a group of independent, experienced sailmakers who shared a common vision, the company has been dedicated to overcoming the trend towards mass-marketing and mediocrity in the sailmaking industry.

 Quantum produces highly customized solutions for cruising and racing sailors who demand the very best, and who love to sail. It is a place where sailmaking is truly a performing art.   Today, Quantum has more than 60 sales and service outlets throughout the world, with European headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, and corporate offices in Traverse City, MI.

Production, design, and engineering are centralized under the direction of QSDG manufacturing. Sails are built at a limited number of specialized facilities including three new, state of the art manufacturing centers for the production of Quantum’s proprietary Fusion M membrane sails.  The organization continues to attract the best and brightest sailmaking talent with its youthful, non-conformist approach. The company’s resume of sailing credits boasts a foundation that includes dozens of Olympic medals, literally thousands of National and World sailing championships, and extensive participation at the highest levels of the sport.
