Q: I have a J105 and I am considering Quantum Sails, when considering a jib,what would you recommend Horizontal or Vertical battens? What are theadvantages to both, if any?


Q: I have been sailing E's for a long time and had the opportunity to sailwith my son on his I-20 this past weekend, and I had a couple questions.First he sailed with his main pulled all the way up, which made the saillook tight to me, with vertical wrinkle top to bottom, should he loosenthe halyard? Secondly the top batten of the jib catches on the mastduring every tack (light wind) is this normal? Q: We have been sailing with our Quantum C Scow sail for six seasons. Thebolt rope seemed to be too tight so I cut it two seasons ago. Has thatissue been addressed? We are very fast even with an older sail downwindand hold our own upwind. We are purchasing a new sail this year and hopeto improve our finishes. We have a 10+ year old JBW hull, 1 year old newmast and want increase our speed. Is your sail as fast or faster thanthe new North? Q: I sail an albacore. Our measurement form statesthat "Only one window in a headsail, Total areaof windows in one sail less than 0.19m2, Two win-dows Max in mainsail". Typically the main sailmeasures in at approx. 0.11m2 and the area of theheadsail at about 0.16m2.It has been stated that: "The consensus of theopinions submitted by all, was that the perfor-mance of the sail would suffer appreciably if thewindow size were increased.
