Just wanted to let you know we got a chance to use those new J22 sails and they worked great! First we raced in the San Francisco NOOD regatta and took first in our class. Then just last week we raced up at the High Sierra Regatta on Huntington Lake in California and finished first in our class (PHRF C). Quantum® sails also powered the third and fourth place boats (also J22s from Monterey). Hopefully we can have similar results at the Great Pumpkin Regatta in Richmond in October! Thanks again for the great sails!

I am finally writing to thank you for you great product, service & support.

We have been using our new Quantum main & #1 for a couple months now and find them very fast. The increase in performance was instant and keeps improving as we get to know them. Our former competitors are quite jealous.

As you know We looked at a couple other sail makers for our new sails. The learning process with regard to the new technologies was not easy. Sorting through the propaganda about "our" latest techniques...was a daunting task. I truly appreciated you walking me through the process and answering my multitude of questions. I know that when we need additional sails you will get my call.

By the way after five races we have four firsts and a second.

Thanks again,

This weekend was great for sailing with winds of 15-20 and puffs to 23 knots. I would like to express my greatest appreciations of obtaining my sails from Quantum and dealing with you.

First of all, I am very glad and thankful for the contact with you and the help you gave me to choose the fabric and the components for my sails. None from the companies around showed me Hydra Net.

I appreciate the fact, that you did not push me, but gave me full information and so I was able to make my decision for this state of updating my boat comfortably.

The sails are delightful not only to look at them : the quality, craftsmanship, components and real attention to the detail, but also for their performance. Light or strong winds, they are easy to adjust and handle.

Now I can drive the boat with one finger on the wheel. The speed increased average with 1-1.5 knots. On close haul, close reach it is easy to get 7-7.5 knots, compared with max 6.5 before. Beam reach 8.5; before 7-7.5. Plus upwind, the numbers of tacks decreased from 4-5 to 1.

I have never seen this fabric before on any boat, but I believe it will be much better than a Dacron and good compromise for quality and price.

I am looking forward to place an order for an asymmetrical spinnaker asap.

Sincerely

Dobrin Dobrev

The Quantum symmetrical spinnaker powering my Beneteau 473 from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas in last years' Baja Ha Ha proved to be an incredible addition to my sail inventory. This finely engineered spinnaker allowed us to reach speeds never seen in this yacht design and likely the yacht class in general.

Don and the Quantum crew possess a true understanding of customer service and attention to detail, and have been a real pleasure to work with.

To Quantum Sails,

I would like to follow-up with you on my purchase of a set of Lido 14 sails ( both main and jib ) and Lido 14 boat cover. I have been pleased with the both the quality and performance of the products. I have been racing for over 25 years, both one design and off shore racing. I have sailed with and purchased sails from North, Ullman and Sobstad. I selected Quantum for my Lido 14 because of Quantum's experience with this boat and the racing success of Lido's using the latest generation of Quantum Sails. For me, Quantum appears to be very dedicated to one design racing. The web site made it easy to choose products for my type of boat. And Quantum is constantly making improvements to the set of Lido 14 sails.

Thanks,
Brian Brown

The Experience with Quantum was great in all respects- excellent advice on the size/weight/cut of the new genoa, quick service, essentially on time, and my interactions with you were great. Thanks especially for going to the boat and rigging the sail yourself. This new sail makes a huge difference in the boat's performance.

Kind Regards,

Hanson

My experience with Quantum Sail has been a very good one. I do own a Béneteau 361. A couple of years ago I did buy a furling jib (100%) and later a Furling Mainsail. The process of this purchase has been very rewarding. From my initial contact with Don Teakell, one of the Richmond, CA, salesperson, Don proved to be of great counsel, understanding immediately what I wanted. The quotation process was also very easy. We had some technical issues with the Furling mainsail. Throughout the process, Don and Quantum were totally professional and dealt with the issues until they were solved to my satisfaction Ultimately, some specifications had to be modified and a new mainsail had to be rebuilt.

I have used these sails in the Bay of San Francisco for over 2 years and I am very satisfied with their structure and strength and the way they are holding. I definitely do recommend Quantum Sails and do thank Don and his Quantum Pacific office for their very professional attitude.

Kind regards,

Bernard

Your assistance was absolutely unbelievable. We loved the personal attention you gave. I wish we still had the boat but due to financial reasons, we had to let her go. The sails got us a good price for the boat. He did great.

Quantum Sails has certainly gone the "extra" mile for me!

I have an Express 37 and there is a fairly substantial fleet in San Fran and on the East Coast. When I bought the boat five years ago I was looking at a total rebuild on the sail inventory. The main choices here were UK Halsey, North or Quantum. Never having sailed with Quantum’s sails before and after reading about the designers and inspiration behind the company I thought this was the way to go. I took a chance and followed my instincts. My first Quantum fusion M Main was blazing fast right out of the bag and we did well the first year. We were learning and had a tough group of dedicated Express owners to compete with.

The second year we bought two more sails and accordingly continued to build our speed so that we started to worry the leaders more often. The finale to this year was winning our class at the Larchmont NOOD regatta against six other Express’s all with "other" sails. Ok, now we really had their attention!

All this time we were nursing along our old sails of non Q name and our local Quantum sail maker, Thomas Kinney (aka TK) was always there to help stitch things back together at all hours of the day. Without TK’s enduring help we would not have been able to keep our sails literally in one piece. Needless to say our Quantum Fusion M sails were performing perfectly and we had no issues with them. We have continued to build our inventory one or two sails at a time to the point now where we have a complete compliment of brand new Quantum sails. We were extremely pleased with the dedication to attention and service not to mention pure speed of the sails. The sails we bought in year one are still just as fast five years later.

How has Quantum gone the "extra" mile? When we got to the point of wanting a second flatter main for higher wind speeds I called out to the SF loft to see if they had any good designs for the stronger breezes of the bay. Don Teakell, the rep that I spoke with, informed me of a really good deal that had come from a customer ordering a main and not needing it. A deal ensued and shortly thereafter we received just what we needed sent cross country by our Quantum friends in CA! Now that is a company who prides themselves on service and support I tell you.

So if you are looking for a sail that is not only going to be built with the highest standards in design and construction, be fast, and have a Team of experts to stand behind their product then look no further than Quantum Sails.

A VERY satisfied and FAST customer,

Bill Walker

Word at the Richmond YC helped us decide on Quantum for our first set of new sails for our Islander 36, Captain Hooke. Quantum representive Don Teakell came and measured the rig and discussed our needs for racing one design on San Francisco Bay.

The measurements alone took over an hour. The new sails fit perfectly, within a quarter inch tolerance on all dimensions. There were a few problems with the plastic main sail slides and these were immediately replaced with metal ones. Don helped us set up the sails underway and we went on to win the season championship.

After about twenty-five races a recent inspection at the Quantum loft indicated we still have a lot of shape left in cloth. We are looking forward to another successful season.

We love our Quantum sails! They got us here to New Zealand in all kinds of conditions! They have transformed our 38ft. Island Packet into a racer-cruiser! We had a 180 mile day on the sail from Tonga to NZ. We flew the asymmetrical for nearly a day. North winds are rare on this passage so we hit it just right.

I have purchased two Quantum sails on two occasions and found my interactions with Quantum to be excellent. Straightforward and met expectations. Preliminary discussions were clear and helpful; sails arrived on time and installations were straightforward – no problems. Have had the sails for more than two years now, sailing frequently in strong winds on SF bay. Sails are still in excellent condition and performing at a high level.

My quantum 75 oz. spinnaker was the workhorse that powered through 10 days of continuous Pac Cup racing after two other spinnakers blew up on the second day of the race. The purchase process with Don Teakell at Quantum was flawless.

Cheers,

Gary Troxel

I thought you were very helpful with the code zero. We enjoyed working with you, the price was right, the sail fit and works great.

I especially liked how suppportive you were in the beginning with getting us info, etc.

My order from Quantum consisted of two replacement head-sails for my Cheoy Lee ketch. After I provided the necessary measurements to Don Teakell, he took the extra step to insure that the order was correct in all regards, by arranging to pay a personal visit to my boat. He scheduled an appointment to take measurements, and then arrived at the allotted time. This was a very important "customer service component", as I had been out of town on a trip, and made special arrangements to meet Don at my boat. Don completed his task in a timely manner, and then gave me an estimate of the time required for construction of the sails and ultimate delivery to their loft. I received e-mail updates from him on a regular basis, and as the day of delivery approached, we made arrangements to meet at the sail loft for inspection of the finished product. Once again, the timing was important due to an impending cruise. Don and his staff gave my sails a thorough inspection, pointing out some additional work that was done to strengthen stress points, and fabrication that was far beyond my expectations. The pricing was exactly what had been quoted (and included a Boat Show discount), despite all of the extra work done by Quantum.

The final test was my first day of sailing with the two new sails. What a treat! The cut was perfect, the performance of the boat was improved, the furling was easier, and the result was one extremely satisfied owner.

Would I order from Quantum again? Most definitely!! Would I recommend Quantum and Don Teakell to other sailors? - WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION WHATSOEVER!!!!!! Super job Don and the Quantum Sails folks.

Gratefully,

It was great to get my asymmetrical spinnaker in time for my trip to Catalina. The custom cut with a 1.5 ounce luff, and ¾ oz leech flies beautifully….

We flew the sail around P>T Conception in 22 knots with gusts to 25. It performed nicely and we were moving at up to 12 knots water speed with no fluttering.

My Beneteau 423 is over 20,000 pounds, but handled like a dinghy. No one else offered this special design, and I’m very happy I used Quantum for this project. The service was professional and friendly.

My experiences with Quantum have been exceptional (A-sail, main, jib so far). From initial discussions to delivery to support, you have delivered on your commitments. You took the time to understand what my needs were, and the sails have exceeded my expectations. The high quality of your service matches that of your sails! I expect to continue to look to you and Quantum for future sail needs. Your knowledgeable support not only got us the right sails, but I believe also helped us get results in our twilight races -a great added benefit!

Regards,

Mike C.

My dealings with Quantum for the purchase of new sails for my Catalina 36 were all positive. Since I live out of town most of the dealings were by phone and email not until the sails were being installed on the boat did I personally meet the Quantum reps. The price was very good, the service was excellent and there was only one minor miss communication that was quickly resolved about billings. Oh! and for the sails, don’t know it they were the deciding factor but we won the 2009 Marina Del Rey to Puerto Vallarta race winning our class and also first overall.

Quantum Sails did us proud in procuring a new jib for Pegasus, a youth training vessel, at factory cost. Quantum honored its ex-factory price even though it took us a year to raise the funds. Quantum delivered the new jib as promised. Meanwhile, Quantum repaired the old jib at short notice on a number of occasions, and enabled us to fulfill our commitments to a number of community and youth organizations that we would have had to abandon. See the new jib at www.pegasusproject.org! In short, great support. Thank you!

Jason has provided our Farr 30 program with excellent support for since we acquired the boat in 2002. Jason has raced Farr 30's at the highest levels and knows the boats inside out. Jason understands that given work and family demands we mainly focus on club racing rather than traveling to grand prix races. Jason has put us in the right sails for our program, balancing sail shape, durability and cost. With our limited time for sailing, having a sailmaker that provides excellent service has been essential. Jason assists us in making sure the rig is in tune and maintaining our sails in top condition. Jason is an exceptional sailor and coach. On the water, he has given us invaluable guidance on sail trim, weight distribution and crew mechanics. In short, Jason is an indispensable part of our racing program.

Just wanted to let you know how much Eddie and I are enjoying the new sail.

It is PERFECT!!! It adds at least a knot of speed with every wind angle and allows us to point much better. Thanks again.

I purchased a set of sails from “Quantum Sail Design Group” Annapolis Md., along with a Dutchman system for the main, spring of 2008. I chose the “Fusion X” material for the main and 135% Geona.

I have been very happy with the service I have received. Jason Currie, my Quantum representative, was very knowledgeable, met or exceeded all time limits, was always punctual for appointments, and addressed all of my concerns or questions promptly. The quality and construction of the sails met all of my expectations. I will be adding to my sail inventory in the near future, and will purchase them from Quantum.

Quantum Annapolis has a well deserved reputation for quality racing sails and service. Even before I started buying sails from them, their service on my existing sail inventory was stellar, and Jason Currie epitomizes their customer commitment. Having purchased a used Farr 40 and now needing to rotate into some new sails, I just purchased my first Quantum spinnaker. I look forward to seeing this new sail up, and very much look forward to continuing our relationship."

Erik

Over the past number of years, your service department has provided excellent and efficient repairs on the sails we have sent you. Additionally, when we have referred a customer considering the possibility of new sails, you have contacted them in a quickly and guided them in the right direction. We have been extremely satisfied with both the quality and coast of Quantum Sails, whether it be cruising or racing, and would highly recommend you and your company to anyone interested in purchasing new sails for their boat.

Thanks to Quantum for working with me to help the BC27 project come together. Delivery was on time at a competitive price and they took the time to make sure the sails fit on a prototype design. It was by their efforts we were competitive in our debut regatta with no time to learn the boat. Everything I've come to expect from our past 10 years of experience with Quantum.

Ever since we bought our Apogee 50 sloop four years ago, you and your team at Quantum have made us feel like we have our own personal sailmaker. While our solent rig is a little unusual for the Chesapeake region, you have taken the time to understand the boat and to listen to our short and long term sailing plans. We have modified the setup, re-cut some of the existing inventory and built new sails that fit our needs and budget.

As a result, my wife, daughter and I have sailed thousands of offshore miles both safely and quickly.

We look forward to continuing to work with you to make Arcadia even better!

Dear Quantum Sails,

I recently ordered a suite of sails through your Annapolis office and I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied through the entire process. I was provided polite and prompt service when initially speaking with your representatives to quote the job and the sails I was interested in. I was assigned a designer who listened to me, worked with me, and most importantly stayed in touch with me through the process. I was ordering a new Genoa, and a Storm Jib, and Storm Trysail for my Cruising 38' Ericson. The recommendations and suggestions provided by my rep were excellent and the process of working together to achieve my goals was enjoyable and successful. I was provided with superior quality sails at an excellent price which fit my budget. As a cruiser budget and quality are a constant goal and both were achieved for my sails.

I received my new sails about a month prior to re-launching after extensive outfitting. I couldn't wait to try out the new Genoa, and it performed better than expected. The foam luff suggested allows me to furl it well beyond a 100% jib, and still perform excellent in both upwind and downwind conditions. The storm sails have only been raised for trial, and not put through an actual storm but I can tell the quality and strength of these sails will carry me through anything the sea demons can orchestrate, I'm extremely satisfied with all the sails, and especially my new Genoa. I would not hesitate to recommend this office to anyone I run into looking for sails and in the future I will rely on the excellent service, quality, and value provided to me for all of my needs.

Thank you Quantum,

Stephen & Taryn Toman

Twice in the past couple of years Quantum have built sails for me – asymmetricals for a Gemini catamaran and a Jeanneau 45DS. In both cases the attention to detail and thoughtfulness prior to proceeding with the building of the sails was exemplary. In addition, as we were commissioning our new Jeanneau with Quantum sails Jason’s insight and advice was invaluable. Quantum sails do what they are meant to – help to sail your boat at peak performance. They may not be the cheapest sails on the market but in terms of all round value, service and support Quantum is way out in front. Jason Currie is an outstanding representative for Quantum – if you want excellent sails ask a New Zealander to build them for you!

Regards,

Michael

We bought a set of sails from Quantum Sails, Annapolis for our Hans Christian Christina, 43 in 2006. We specifically wanted a full roach main and a 110% Genoa for light air performance and less heel in stronger winds. The 1987 cutter we bought in 1997 had pretty much worn out her Banks sails bought in 1998. The new sails increased our performance in all types of air to our great amazement. We sold the boat in 2007 and the sails were a great selling point. The new owners were impressed with the overall sailing performance. It was largely due to the sails we bought from Quantum.

We bought a 1999 Sundeer 60 in 2007. We decided to sail the Sundeer we named Crazy Horse in the Caribbean 1500 Rally from Hampton to Tortola. After looking at all the safety equipment necessary for the Rally we took a hard look at the sails and decided we needed something sturdy, dependable, and fast. After doing some research we decided on a full battened large roach Fusion M mainsail and a 100% Fusion M jib. We figured this would cover all types of air between Hampton and Tortola. We ordered the sails in the middle of September 2007 from Jason Currie. We were doubtful that they would be finished for the departure date of October 27. Knowing our urgency, Jason delivered the sails on the Saturday before our departure. We were amazed. Those sails with some minor problems took us to Hampton, Tortola, St. Croix, Bermuda, and back to Baltimore. We were pleased with Quantum’s service and the performance of the sails. We are now planning on doing the 1500 Rally again in November of 2009. We hope to complete the World ARC in 2010/11. We have confidence these sails will take us the whole trip.

A Classic vessel does not need vintage sails. When my 1930 schooner "Mistress" deserved a new suite, Quantum Sails took the project with the interest and attention and care that we've given to the entire restoration effort. The staff at Quantum truly appreciated the opportunity to dress "Mistress" in their best and insisted on fitting her perfectly--and I owe them a sail.

Glenn McCormick

Schooner Mistress

I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the staff and the quality, value and performance of the main and asym spinnaker you built for our C&C 110. The sails were perfect right out of the bag. I think the quality of the sails helped us sell the boat to the first buyer that saw her. Now I'm in the market for our next boat and if she needs sails, I know who to call.

Tony Neuvel

In June 2008, I purchased a Quantum 135% Cross-Cut Furling Genoa for my Tartan 3500. The entire process from start to finish was smooth as silk and my new sail was ready in short order. Jason custom designed this beauty after I asked him to pretend it was his boat. There's a rewarding "wow" factor from guests when I unfurl this sweet sail. Now, if I could only get Quantum to make me a matching mainsail... Thanks Quantum! Phil Renaud, Executive Director, Living Oceans Foundation

My experience with Quantum has been excellent, largely due to the level of customer service I have received before, during and after the buying process. The sails themselves have been terrific (great price, performance, and quality), but the main reason I would recommend Quantum is for the level of service that they provide. Specifically, Jason Currie of Quantum's Annapolis loft, has exceeded all expectations from the first time I spoke with him about my sail needs, up to the present. He is extremely knowledgeable, and has bent over backwards to make the entire process of researching, buying, and owning sails as smooth as possible.

When I first was shopping around for sail quotes, out of five lofts contacted, Quantum, and one other were the only two that even got back to me with a price! I went with Quantum, and have not been disappointed. I recently had a small issue with the mainsail, and Jason went out of his way to take care of it, free of charge. He even hand delivered the sail to my front door, and this was almost a year after the original purchase!

In short, although Quantum is a major sail loft, with a huge international client base, they still treat their customers as a small town local business would. I would highly recommend Quantum, and Jason, and will continue to use them for any future sail needs of my own.

Daniel Tobin

From our initial contact with Jason through post delivery follow up our experience was nothing short of fantastic and very pleasurable. Initially, we just wanted to replace our Genoa. Jason came out and did some pretty thorough measuring in order to maximize the performance and fit of the reefable 150 we were purchasing. We are cruisers, so we elected for the Woven style sail. Jason delivered and installed the sail and to our delight utilized the full capabilities of the fit to our boat. Upon our first sail we were just amazed at the performance and shape of the sail which maximized the performance we can get out of this boat in a 15 knot wind. WOW! Later we found ourselves in 20 ish gusting to 30 knot winds on the bay. No problem, just reefed it in to a 140 then 130 where we maintained excellent shape and virtually no weather helm in the gusts with fantastic performance. What a dramatic difference.

Later in the fall, we were so delighted with the earlier experience that we decided to go ahead and replace the main. Again Jason jumped to it and we again were overwhelmed by a superb job in service, quality and performance! We have a roller furler main and Jason showed off more of his expert knowledge in teaching us a few things about its proper operation. We also had the stay sail sumbrella cover done to match the new "Toast" color we chose for the Genoa and Main. The result over our navy blue hull was striking to say the least.

In our opinion, you cannot do better than the quality of a Quantum Sail and again the extremely good service we received from Jason and his support team!

Mark & Susan Okkerse, TIANNA, Mooresville, NC (and beyond)

Quantum has been making sails for Woodwind and Woodwind II for many years (well over 10!). The quality and price has always been outstanding. Most important is the service. For those people who are not familiar with our business, we charter and do public cruises with our fast wood/epoxy schooners. We cannot afford to lose business because one of the boats is having a sail repaired. Quantum has always serviced us on a reliable basis, even under short notice. The quality is remarkable. Nobody uses their sails harder then our two sailboats. We take 10,000 guests per boat, per year. We sail, using the motor for about 10 minutes per 2 hour sail. This includes match racing (the only match racing in identical schooners in the world). We also race Woodwind in the Great Chesapeake Schooner Race with one of the best records in the fleet. Woodwind hit sustained speeds of over 14 knots during the last 3 races. Quantum sails last about six years before they have to be replaced. That is remarkable! I have always been impressed with Quantum’s staff, for it is people that make the company. They have always been upfront about prices and delivery times and they have never tried to sell me anything I did not need. I feel comfortable about asking them for advice.

Ken

In February of 08 I decided it was time to upgrade the sails on my 1980 Tartan 37. Although I mostly cruise, I wanted sails that would hold up to the most challenging conditions and be reliable for future ocean voyages. Additionally, I wanted to work with a loft that would not only provide friendly, expert service but also have lofts worldwide. After researching for about two months, the choice was obvious: Quantum Sails of Annapolis. Jason Currie took the time to not only evaluate my old sails and rig but he came out to the boat numerous times to measure and make sure all the fittings on the new sails would be fastened correctly. after settling in on the weight of the cloth and size of the jib, the order was placed and Jason kept me up to speed on the production process. Upon delivery, the sails were fitted on the boat to perfection and the subsequent performance has been amazing, a full knot and one half faster! I know I can always call Jason for expert advise, he is a true professional and cares a great deal about his customers. I would recommend Jason and Quantum to anyone needing an upgrade to their sail inventory.

We had such a great time in Charleston. While we blew catching Kerry Klinger on the last day, it’s the first time in a long time that we’ve been back in the hunt.

Having had so much fun, we are energized for the coming regattas.

The sails were awesome. We’re all very pleased!

Ben

Just a quick note to say that the sails arrived safely in Guernsey on Friday.

True to form, the wind disappeared for the entire weekend and the only thing we could do was unroll them and admire them on the shore. They look fantastic, thank you, and we are really looking forward to getting out on the water to learn how to use them! Not sure we will be able to replicate your results, but we are definitely running out of excuses to lose!

Thank you so much to both you and Terry for your invaluable help and assistance over the last few weeks - it is really nice to find people who have the time for club sailors like ourselves and willing to share their knowledge.

Wishing you guys a great season (good luck at the Worlds) and no doubt we will be in touch at some stage for another wardrobe.

Best Regards,

Matt

The new R3 spinnaker really made a big difference for us in Miami. We were able to go lower and not lose speed giving us more tactical options. This gives us more opportunities to pass downwind and we are able to capitalize on them. We used a new J2 and felt that we had better transitions between the puffs and the lulls. Unfortunately we had a over early and a terrible takedown that concluded with a back down off of the chute.

New Wave has a leg up on the competition in 14 and under. We are improving in the bigger breeze and feel the new inventory gives us the best inventory in the fleet. Now it comes down to execution.

For us Quantum has helped us continue to grow in a significantly growing fleet. I can tell you how happy New Wave is with the quality of the sails. Sail design discussions and delivery on those conversations have been spot on.

Marty

First, with respect to my interactions with Quantum Sails and you prior to purchasing any sails from your loft, I found the experience to be very informative, helpful and your and your team was very forth coming. I have asked multiple questions and probably the same question multiple times. Your advice and information helped me advance my J22 program to be competitive with the local Portsmouth racing fleet (1st place for the last two years for the second half of the season even competing against a J24 sailed by Kirk Reynolds). I have yet to apply this info in a one design regatta, but plan to this summer (The Raw Bar regatta in Buffalo). Further, you have always made yourself available both by phone and e-mail. You did all of this prior to me spending one cent with your loft.

With respect to purchasing sails from the Quantum team, the boat came with a Quantum jib and main that had been purchased via the “one regatta use” program. They are now five years old and still competitive for club racing purposes. For the first couple of years of my relationship with Quantum, I had made no purchases from you other than a keel guard. When it cam time for me to finally buy something, you were willing to work with me on price and timing of payment so that I could get the sails I wanted at a reasonable price. Further, while I did not take advantage of it at the time, you have a program for one regatta old sails at a discount that is attractive for the club racing sails. I plan on seeing if I can purchase a spinnaker next year using this program.

Because of your willingness to work with me in both the education of how to make the J22 go faster, providing a good product at a reasonable price, and giving me the benefits of “good guy” pricing as well as the timing of payments for my cash flow purposes, I will be using Quantum sails on my boats for the foreseeable future. I make this statement even in light of the fact that the preferred sails for the J22 appear to be from that “other” company, but I believe that the sails from Quantum are just as competitive. There is no need to follow the crowd as long as someone at Quantum is paying attention to the J22; making sure the Quantum J22 sail designs are staying competitive.

I have enjoyed our past relationship and look forward to our future one using Quantum sails.

Regards,

George

I recently made a change to Quantum Sails after 3 years with another well known sail maker. I was somewhat skeptical and apprehensive as I was expecting that once I purchased a new suit of sails, the promises of participation in my sailing program would be forgotten.

However - Scott Nixon has shown true sincerity and genuine interest to insure our success in our Quantum experience. Not only has he been a great guy to sail with and fun to have on my boat - but has shown why he is an unbelievable talent as a tactician and friend. Bringing us to a well earned first place victory in our first regatta together - we are looking forward to many more with his participation.

The Quantum products are well made, the service has been fantastic and everyone connected to the Quantum organization has shown a genuine and aggressive interest to insure that our program results in success after success.

I made the right choice when I decided to switch sail makers and am excited to have Scott and the rest of the Quantum organization on my team.

Since we are working with Quantum Sail, Scott Nixon is our contact.

We don't know how to thank him for his help and professional service. He oriented and guide us.

The consequence of this is that my son Axel Sly, is the happiest kid I ever saw sailing an Optimist. The reason is because he is using the sail he really wants, a Tony Tio Radial..., and with this sail, he is faster and faster in any sailing condition, and having excellent performance (or results) in every race.

We sailed to Freeport Sunday a week ago with winds 15-20 knts in the morning and then 20-25 in the afternoon with seas 8-12 ft. The Quantum headsail you furnished worked really well in those conditions... perfect size, good shape, strong, and easy to trim and furl in and out. Nice product,, good job ! Thank you for that.

I bought my first set of white sails along with an all-purpose A-sail from Quantum in Seabrook when I purchased my Beneteau First 44.7 new. The sails had excellent performance "right out of the box" and with the tweeking Quantum's Terry Flynn provided, we were first in our first regatta. Over the next couple of years our sail budget went to upgrading to Quantum Fusion main and genoa, plus a symmetrical spinnaker. All have been excellent. Not only does Quantum build an excellent product for a very fair price, the follow-up from their local sailmakers and service make Quantum sails the first choice on the Gulf Coast.

I can't tell you how big of an improvement we've seen in the performance of J/22 since changing to Quantum Sails. The sails are easy to tune, and easy to find the groove. Terry and the team at Quantum are always there to answer questions and offer tips on improving our performance. I recommend Quantum Sails to anyone that will listen.

Thank you and the Texas Quantum Staff for years of excellent service. You have been with me through boat after boat and are always there when I need you. I have taken your sails from Antigua to Honolulu and never had a problem. They are always fast and last and last. That is an owners dream come true. You even help my old Wednesday Night sails hold together. I am sure you will help me out again as we get geared up for another Transpac run this year. The only sails we use come from you.

Adding Quantum Sails to my B44.7 was like supercharging a V8: It was like adding more air! Beautifully shaped sails in durable cloth--we bent and broke hardware and the sails always looked like new. Easier on the trimmers to get the shape right quickly, and full power makes it easier to drive up to speed, so not winning only leaves the tactician to blame!

I am a yacht broker at HSH Yachts in Seabrook Texas. When any of my customers asked me who to talk to for sails I send them to Terry Flynn first. He has always treated me and my customers with respect, handles the business end of the transaction extremely well and to say the least makes one great sail. Since I always listen to my own advice Terry and Quantum made an excellent main for my Dufour 35 and I could not have been happier with the results. Nice going Terry and Quantum!

Alternative Girlfriend has long term affair with “Q”

Our J22 has been running around with Q’s for more years than I can remember. We have always had excellent service and support and Terry Flynn has helped us immensely over the past decade. Sometimes we don’t help ourselves but that has nothing to do with the sails, they get us quickly to the wrong side. We are so pleased with the Q sails that we now have a full set for our assault on the Shark Worlds this summer. When we asked around in the Shark class, new to us, it was clear Q’s are also the standard in the Shark class as well as with the J22’s. Heck even my daughter has a Q sail on her Opti and it serves her extremely well. 3 boats all Q, yeah we like them a lot

We have used Quantum sails for the many years. Coming from a big round jib to a much flatter sail improved our point immediately. We have stated with Quantum because as the designs improved it was always Quantum in the lead showing our class how to go faster in all kinds of air. Terry has always delivered what has promised when it was promised. And always with a french fry in the box.

Fast Sails – Great Service!

Even if you believe that all sails are created equal, service is what sets Quantum apart. Service before, during, and after the sale. They have the knowledge and patience to address all of your questions. Beyond sail selection and trim, they'll talk about steering technique , setup, and even deck layout. When you buy from Quantum you get great sails and you get a partner that will help you achieve your goals.

For the Texas Ranger, our Catalina 470, your professionalism and dedication along with your whole Quantum team won this past year's Crusing Spinaker Harvest Moon for us. As you know, we purchased the Ranger at the end of 2007 and replaced all of her inventory with Quantum sails. Your selection, design, construction and setting recommendations were spot on. But more importantly, your willingness to spend time testing with us and making those so important incremental adjustments gave us the tools we needed to do the best we could. The HMR breeze favored us, but your sails made it happen! We love the vertical battened main, bullet proof 139, and big assed A-kite. And you continue to support us in making those little adjustments such as the main batten stiffness. Why would I use anyone else to make my sails?

Oh, and my brother-in-law. Mike Reeves, of Voyage 500 cruising cat fame, swears by you guys too.

Last August Terry Flynn with Quantum Sails came out to my boat and measured her for fitting a new main sail and a new head sail. After the new sails were installed Terry took the care to personally go back out to the boat and inspect the sails under actual sailing conditions at all points of sail . Afterwards and in the pursuit of perfection, Terry took it upon himself to "tweak" the new sails with a few minor adjustments in order to obtain that last ounce of performance. One month later out sailboat won Division First Place and the Cameron Perpetual Trophy in the 2008 Harvest Moon Regatta.

I could not be more satisfied with the quality of my new Quantum Sails or the support provided by Terry Flynn and Quantum Sails.

Every boat that I've ever bought (Santana 35, Carrera 290, J-22, Farr 37 and SR-33) came with someone else's sails. It took Quantum sails to make them winners! If the service and support weren't there, I wouldn't be either after the first boat!

I needed a spinnaker for my J/29 Frac. The catch was I needed a sail that would make the most of this rig's weaker point of sail all while sailing in Lake Lanier's historically light and shifty conditions. After a number of calls, and emails, one rep that stood out was Terry Flynn - at Quantum's Texas loft. Everyone promises a great sail. The differentiator for me was customer service and overall best value, considering both a reputable brand and a competitive price. The sail was delivered when promised, and exceeded my expectations on the water."

I have found the Quantum sails for my J/22 to be faster for a longer period of time than other brands. In fact, I regularly club race with a full set of Quantums that are past their prime for circuit racing but still fresh enough to race against competitors with fairly new sails from other sailmakers. When regattas come around or I need to step it up, I throw on the newest set for a little extra mojo.

My crew may complain about my tactics or my driving, but they never complain about the sails. Ninety percent of our fleet use Quantum sails for J/22s. In post race discussion, it's always better compare tuning and trim techniques with a common sail design. Then when we can't agree we call our Quantum One-Design professional for the right answer.

After a few months owning and racing a J22 that came with a couple older sets of sails, I was heading into one of the Galveston Bay area’s bigger regattas (Leukemia Cup) and regretting that I had been too lazy to order up a new set of race sails beyond looking at all the main sail maker websites. I pulled into the lot Friday evening at Houston Yacht Club and there is Terry Flynn rigging his boat so I drove up and half tongue in cheek asked “Hey Terry, I don’t guess you have a new set of sails at the loft” to which he replied “What sail number and what color spinnaker?” and then stopped what he was doing got on the phone and sent the instructions to the staff back at the loft. The next morning there was a brand new set of sails, a tuning guide and Terry next to my boat ready to give me the quick overview on how to set up the rig. No big ordering process, delivery date or scheduling a demo sail. On the water he came over and set up next to me for some boat on boat speed testing. They were fast. In businesses like these, customer service can be the differentiator. That is what I look for and found in this case. Now that we are getting recovered from IKE I look forward to more sailing and doing more business with Terry and the team at Quantum in Seabrook, TX.
